Objectives

Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey’s key objective is to educate reliable, qualified, transparent experts who should monitor and report greenhouse gas emission according to international and national standards.

The purpose of the training is collect accurate and reliable information on greenhouse gas emissions according to national regulations and to increase the carbon management adequacy of the country to international standards.

In order to provide adequate, continuous quality and professionalism in training and support area of MRV project of Turkey, the targeted Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey’s business objective needs to be a sustainable business model.

Mission

The mission of the provisioned Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey is to create an ever-improving professional society composed of internationally recognized, highly competent and unquestionably ethical professionals that provide the foundation and leadership for greenhouse gas management for Turkey.

To address climate change by building and supporting a country community of experts with the highest standards of professional practice in measuring, accounting, verifying and managing greenhouse gas emissions; meeting the needs of governments, corporations with industries and local /international organizations via trainings and expertise and awareness raising services.

1.5.     Stakeholders and Their Roles for the Implementation Phase

The Stakeholder organizations and their roles during the implementation phase is as below;

Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Directorate General of Environmental Management, Climate Change Management Department – Greenhouse Gases Monitoring and Emission Trade Unit Management

The unit is the principle responsible on the monitoring and reporting of the Greenhouse Gases. The relevant strategy development and regulations are executed by this unit. Concurrently with those responsibilities, the unit is also the executing the “Capacity Development Project on MRV” along with the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH).

Their responsibility in the implementation phase is to monitor, execute and approve the operations of the Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey. Also to control and lead the operations according to the legal frame work is under the responsibility of this Unit.

GIZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH is the executor of the Capacity Development Project on Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey along with the Ministry of the Environment and Urbanization.

Their responsibility in the implementation phase is to providing expertise, know-how and financial support to the Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey during the Capacity Development Project.

TÜÇEV – Turkey Environment Foundation

Carbon Management Training  Center of Turkey has been established under the foundation organization. Therefore, the foundation will be the principle responsible of the operational management and the sustainability of the center.
